On its third
anniversary, Tropical American Tree Farms celebrated the planting of 500,000 trees of more
than 40 different tropical hardwood species on its Costa Rican property. The company
currently manages a total of 3,600 plantation acres and protects another 1,500 acres of
tropical rainforest. Although no wood will be available until 1999, Tropical American Tree
